Discrimination can occur even in the resume-screening stage. What would be some ways to mitigate this discriminatory effect?
Resume screening is a critical stage where the resumes reach the employer's table and contain all the candidates' details. During this process, there is a greater chance of discrimination as it includes information like names and the origin that are often considered as the base for discrimination. It reveals the ethnic group identity to the prospective employers. This has an adverse impact and results in the unfair practices in the employment related decision making. There are some ways that can be adopted to mitigate bias, and one of the critical ways is not to include the names of the candidate and be replaced with the code number.
